Hospitality Services (Hotel/Resort Management)/Grades 11-12 (2 credits) (Interview/Application) Advanced Measure
This is an internship program which actually has its classroom at the Omni Barton Creek Resort and Spa, Hilton Downtown, Driskill, W Hotel, and Stephen F Austin Hotel! You will receive hands-on training in 5 departments of your choice. Transportation provided. College Credit. Pre Req: Principles of Hospitality, Principles of Business, BIM, or Lifetime Nutrition and Wellness

The Training Process
The First year program is designed to be an intensive industry experience coupling hands on training with an in depth study in the rooms, food and beverage, and supportive divisions. The students spend four mornings a week receiving hands-on training in the hotel, rotating to seven different departments for every four weeks.
Students have the opportunity to explore the following departments:
Front Desk
Reservations
PBX
Bell Stand
Concierge
Housekeeping
Restaurants
Kitchens
Banquets
Room Service
Catering
Human Resources
Accounting
European Spa
Information Systems
Fitness Center
Retail/Pro Shops
Audio Visuals
Kids Club
Security
Golf Operations
Golf Course Maintenance
Engineering
Two former students are now working for Barton Creek Resort, and many more worked there before. Some of the previous positions have included wedding planning, convention services, purchasing, engineering, bell attendants, valet, camp counselors, and beverage cart drivers.
